How to reach Sundarban National Park?
To reach Sundarban first of all you have to reach Kolkata and you can easily reach Kolkata by air as well as by train.
By Air to Kolkata
One way to reach Kolkata is by taking a flight. The nearest airport is DUM DUM airport also known as Netaji Subhash Chandra airport, Kolkata.
By Train to Kolkata
Kolkata has two big station that are connected to all the states in India. There are two major station in Kolkata.
First station is Howrah railway station.
Second station is Sealdah railway station.
Kolkata to Sundarbans
The distance from Kolkata to Sundarbans is approximately 135km in which 90 km is roadways and rest 45 km should be covered by ferry.
By Train
The nearest railway station is Canning railway station for Sundarbans. You can take a local train from Sealdah to canning which will take 1-1.5 hrs. and after that you can take a taxi/rickshaw to Godkhali ferry point.
By Road
You can easily hire a taxi or hire a tempo traveller till Godkhali and after that take a ferry to Sundarbans.
10 Important Tips For Sundarban Tour
1. Carry necessary medicines
Sundarban is a jungle so carry all your medicines such as for cold and cough, fever, vomit, loose motion. Chemist shops are not available so do also carry extra quantities of your daily medicines.
2. Identification proofs
Do carry the ID card of all travelers even the ID card of children.
3. Lightweight Small Luggage
Carry a lightweight suitcase with important things only. Don’t carry unnecessary luggage as it will be difficult for you to handle.
4. Wear Shoes
Don’t forget to carry shoes, all travelers even ladies should wear shoes because there will be mud in many places and you also have to hop on boat. The slippers don’t have better grip and hence they can slip so its recommended to wear shoes.
5. Sun Shades
Do carry Sunglasses and sun cream of SPF 40+ recommended to protect your skin from the sun.
6. Only 1 ATM Available
Everything is covered in our Sundarban tour packages but still if you need extra money for shopping do carry cash as only 1 ATM is available at Gosaba and there are network issues for online transactions.

Staff was friendly overall very good trip.A fantastic experience with great hosts, excellent property, delicious food, and special care for the elderly at the Sundarban Tourism Hub. While considering a return to Sundarban, I’d opt for a private tour to explore the core zone for a better chance of spotting tigers. Shared tours mostly focus on river safaris in the buffer zone. Regardless, river safaris are still a wonderful experience, especially with family. A small suggestion to SET: provide tea/coffee more frequently, given the tea addiction among many Bengalis.
